EN BUSCA DEL SUEÑO AMERICANO. LEADVILLE 100 MILES 2019

Si el año pasado, el Almeriense Rubén Delgado, era de los pocos Españoles que corría la mítica carrera «LeadVille 100 miles», este año junto a él, tendremos a la Malagueña Silva Marfil y al también Malagueño Javier Portales. Todos en busca de ese sueño que marca el lugar donde se celebra la carrera, en busca del ORO.

Rubén Delgado el año pasado fue  TOP 10 en esta carrera, subiendo al pódium como segundo mejor Veterano.

Este año Rubén no estará solo, la Ganadora de Ultra Trail Sierra del Bandolero 2015, segunda clasificada en Gran Vuelta al Valle del Genal 2014 y 17ª Clasificada en TDS by UTMB Montblanc 2018  Silvia Marfil Piñero también buscará el sueño Americano de Leadville.

Al Almeriense Rubén y a la Malagueña Silvia le acompañará otro gran corredor Malagueño, Javier Portales Sepúlveda.

Javier además de un excelente corredor es fisioterapeuta, y no dudó en sacrificar su UTMB del 2015 para ayudar a la accidentada Yolanda Fernandez en aquel UTMB. Yolanda había sufrido un percance y cuando Javier llegó a su altura, la atendió y consiguió recuperarla para finalizar la carrera junto a ella, a Silvia Marfil y el actual Seleccionador Andaluz Gonzalo Zea.

Leadville 100 es un recorrido de ida y vuelta comenzando y terminando en el centro de Leadville, Colorado, a una altitud aproximada de 3.100msnm. La carrera, que comenzó en 1983, tiene un punto alto de 3.800 msnm en Hope Pass, que los corredores cruzan dos veces.

Los records de la prueba lo tienen  Matt Carpenter en categoría masculina 15h:42, que estableció en 2005, y Ann Trason tiene el récord en categoría femenina 18h:06 desde 1994.

La carrera comenzará el sábado 17 de Agosto a las 04.00h  (12 de la mañana en España).

Friday, August 16

• Up-to-date conditions, any changes in race rules or procedures and last-minute instructions will be provided. All entrants are required to attend. A crew briefing will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m.
• 11:00am–5:00pm Packet pickup / Race Across the Sky Expo / T-shirts / Bag Drop
  135 E. 6th Street
  Photo ID is required. Racer check-in and packet pickup. Packets must be picked up in person. They will not be mailed or given to others.

• 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Mandatory crew, specator, and pacer shuttle service from Twin Lakes to Winfield Aid Station

Sunday, August 18

• 5:00 a.m. 25-hour Cutoff time
  Cutoff time for runners awarded the large silver and gold trophy buckles
• 10:00 a.m. 30-hour Cutoff time for all runners
  Runners finishing before the 30-hour cutoff but after the 25-hour cutoff will be awarded the small silver and gold trophy buckles.
• 12:00 p.m. Awards ceremony
  Lake County High School gymnasium, 1000 West 4th St.
  All awards and finisher jackets will be presented at this time and must be picked up in person. They will not be given to others and will not be distributed before or after the awards ceremony
